Hello! I am David Spector, a retired software engineer living in Maine, USA. I am rated between 11k and 17k at OGS, depending on how my opponents play. If they make mistakes, I win. If they play strong, I lose. I have played Go for many years, but I do not improve much over the years.

I focus on 9x9 games, trying to improve life/death and other basic skills. I can't usually invade successfully. I like to play an 8dan computer program, which I never win. It teaches me humility.

I find the usual 6.5 or 5.5 komi too large on 9x9. I wish it was 4.5 or 3.5 to give even games.

Would anyone like to play a 9x9 teaching game ("demo" game board) at OGS? I would appreciate free teaching for now, but perhaps someday I can pay something. I need to find out what I'm doing wrong against stronger players.
