endgame shape question ¶

This shape always confuses me, is it better to give up an extra stone to get a solid pillar, or to give up one fewer stone, but leave behind an atari and capture in endgame for white? [goban sgf=https://openstudyroom.org/media/machina/attachments/endgame-shape-question.sgf move=24] [/goban]
