New Month - New league - prizes

In April, OSR was happy to we welcome some new motivated go player. In total you guys played 79 games.

New leagues

This month we start a double league system:

Following this discussion and this vote, we made new league called OSR Meijin where everyone can play together.

It’s a 3 month league in which you can play up to 5 games with each other members.

At the end, the winner will have the honorific OSR Meijin title.

We still have our ladder league, in which you need to climb up the groups to get to the top Ponnuki. For now, we have 3 divisions, Ponnuki, Tobi and Empty triangle.

The Empty triangle division will welcome OSR newcomers. You need to be on the top of that division to be able to advanced to the next division.

The Tobi division is the second division, it regroups the strongest people or the Empty triangle division, and people that lost the Ponnuki division.

The Ponnuki division regroup all the players that manages to get enough points to qualify for the month.

When you play a game, you can choose for which league you are playing choosing the tag: #OSR for the ladder and #Meijin for the Meijin league.

You can check in your profile which league you are playing in and join them easily.

We hope this double league system will make it easier for you to find games/opponents.

Website update

To allow this double league system we had to do an important website update. Now we can host multiple league at the same time.

We also add ssl security to our website to protect your password/emails.

Future plans include hosting tournaments and league in other Go servers.
