Hi guys,

October was busy

October have been very busy month at OSR. Since we reached the OGS community, we were very happy to welcome quite some new enthusiastic go players. We are now proud to count around 430 registered go players who play, teach, learn, and share their passion for the beautiful game of go. You guys played 180 games this month!

We also welcomed the Neighic Go community who merged with OSR. Thanks to Agent Neigh for her hard work building that group and her will and generosity to merge  projects in order to build the greatest online go community ever.

More people means more ideas, more games played, more issues... more work to manage and run this great community. Good news, this month we also welcomed new man power in OSR team. On top of the already mentioned Agent Neigh, huge thanks to AdamR and entravix who accepted to help running this community.

Wait! Even more good news ! We recently opened our dev channel on OSR discord and I am thanks full to users who are helping giving advices, coding stuff, helping with sysadmin and others.

Finally I have to say that this month we had around 70€ donation at OSR. That's 140€ we gathered since day 1. I am sorry not to share our balance sheet here. Some of our teachers are offering us specials discount because they like and support the OSR project. They sometimes ask not to share those discount publicly and we shall respect that.

We are fully aware this OSR money concerns and belong to OSR community. It will be used for teaching and server cost only. We will think about a way to be more transparent on that. For now we can say that so far OSR have spent around 95€ in server cost and a bit more than 200€ in teaching. I am not counting here the new forces of the Neigh community who are coming with already gathered money for lectures and a screenable copy of the surrounding game. Again, props to Agent Neigh here!

In few words, I am personally very happy to see OSR being more and more a community project. All of us can achieve great things!

Leagues

This month was the first month of our Elite league (18 players playing 22 games), second month of our DDK league (23 players playing 25 games) and the end of Second OSR Meijin !

The monthly ladder started with 36 players this month and we  reopened the Tobi group .

All new leagues are up and running since the 1st of the month in the morning.

Please mind new auto-enrol policy for  Meijin: Joining another league will automatically make you join Meijin league. Idea is to gather there all games played in OSR.
